Doha (QAT) - FIG Office, March 21, 2010: The heads of the 22 teams listed for the 3rd International Tournament in Doha (QAT), a FIG Category A World Cup, were officially welcomed by the Secretary General of the host federation, Mr Mohamed Abdulrahman A. Al-Jabir, at the customary orientation meeting.
The President is excited about this third edition and explained that the tournament is merely the tip of an iceberg of labour taken toward development over the past few years; labour of which he is justifiably proud. The Secretary General appreciates the confidence bestowed on the national Federation by the FIG, where Mr Ali Al-Hitmi, President of the Qatari Federation is an active member of the Council.
After success at the recent Asian Junior Championships in Chiba (JPN), Qatari gymnastics looks forward to a promising future. We’re sure to see it happen next year in December, when Doha plays host to competitions of the 2011 Pan Arab Games.
